With a long-standing track record in the defence sector, DPRTE (Defence Procurement Research Technology Exportability) 2026 is an important opportunity for us to reconnect with industry peers and explore new ways to collaborate.
Directors Karle Burford and Imran Kassim and regional director Stuart Bryson, will be attending DPRTE 2026 Conference at Farnborough International on 25 and 26 March 2026. The conference is the UK’s leading defence procurement and supply chain event, bringing together MoD buyers, government departments, industry leaders, innovators, universities and investors from across the defence community.
DPRTE is a space for meaningful conversations, knowledge sharing and collaboration, shaping the next generation of defence estates.

Breadth of experience and cross sector insight
Our multi disciplinary teams span architecture, building consultancy, masterplanning, interior design and landscape design, amongst others. Drawing on this wealth of knowledge, our teams work together to support defence estates across a wide range of building types, including operational, training, specialist, industrial and residential facilities, delivered through refurbishment, new build and estate-wide masterplanning.
Alongside our defence experience, we apply insight from other highly regulated sectors, including advanced manufacturing, industrial, healthcare, residential and education. This cross-sector expertise strengthens our defence work, particularly where precision, efficiency, resilience and complex technical requirements are critical.

Design quality and technical rigour
Our creative capabilities and collaborative approach enable us to deliver robust, technical, high-performing spaces, of an exceptional design quality. Always working within DIO requirements, we bring spatial intelligence, usability and long-term adaptability to defence environments, ensuring facilities support both operational effectiveness and the wellbeing of those using the space. We create practical, fit for purpose solutions, whilst maximising value for our clients. Our approach is underpinned by practical, buildable solutions and a clear focus on whole-life performance.
Trusted delivery in secure environments
Shaped by our extensive experience delivering projects within secure and high-security sites, our teams are accustomed to working on live operational estates, hold the appropriate security clearances and understand the requirements to operate safely effectively within these spaces.
We work confidently within MoD and DIO frameworks, ensuring security, compliance and operational continuity are maintained throughout project delivery.
Our new building truly is an enabler, helping us respond quickly to customer requirements for marine geospatial data by making it easier to work in a crossfunctional, agile way.”

Internal Communications Manager, UK Hydrographic OfficeSupporting sustainable, high-performing defence estates
A commitment to decarbonisation and sustainability is shared by both AHR and the UK Government, running through all our work, including our defence projects. We can apply passive design principles, fabric-first strategies, along with other sustainable interventions, to optimise building and estate performance. As specialists in this area, we have expertise in designing and delivering projects using the DREAM methodology and experience in achieving recognised accreditation standards, including Passivhaus, BREEAM, LEED and WELL, amongst others.
To create future-ready spaces, we can incorporate smart building technologies which improve operational efficiency, provide data-driven management and offer an adaptability to meet future technological demands, as well as evolving user requirements.
By improving environmental performance and leveraging smart building capabilities, we help our clients to achieve long-term value, while supporting the gradual decarbonisation and modernisation of defence estates.
