The new office was designed to accommodate a range of users,
including fixed workers as well as hot desking touchdown, breakout and meeting spaces, and quiet working areas. The office is open plan and works on a 'smart working' basis with drop in facilities for outreach workers and visiting staff. The design also provides new catering facilities. The accommodation of different depths encourages joined up service delivery and the integration of management and office functions, improving the overall working office environment.
We worked in partnership with the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) as part of the design process and our design was supportive of the objectives of the SFT’s Asset Management Work Stream - 'What about the office: A New Way of Working'. The Garshake project supports the SFT’s aims for a consolidation and rationalisation initiative across Scottish council operational portfolios.
