Emirates Air Line Cable Car
London, UK
project overview
A unique view of London from the sky
Based on a concept designed by Wilkinson Eyre, we provided the detail design and delivery of the landmark cable car project in East London, as part of the winning team selected by our client, Mace Construction.
Using our in-depth knowledge of advanced CAD information, we assisted with the design and fabrication of the station buildings and the iconic two-way curved steel towers as well as the landscape design.
The cable cars travel across the River Thames where passengers can enjoy spectacular views of London’s skyline, the Greenwich Peninsula, the Royal Docks and The O2, which the cars connect with the Excel Centre.
Completed in 2012, the Emirates Air Line Cable Car offered a unique form of travel for visiting tourists and people attending the London 2012 Olympics.
