We’re pleased to share that plans for Redditch Innovation Centre have been approved, a key milestone in delivering flexible workspace for local people and driving economic growth in the area.

The 2,600m² facility will offer flexible and adaptable workspace for both start-ups and established manufacturing businesses, with a particular focus on the growing digital and technology sectors.

The project forms part of the wider town centre regeneration, with the aim of unlocking new opportunities for local people, start-ups and growing businesses across Redditch.

Our design responds directly to local priorities, addressing the shortage of flexible enterprise and workspace, improving access to business support and modernising ageing town centre infrastructure to support long-term economic growth and investment.

Our now-approved design makes the most of the site’s prominent location in Redditch town centre, with a distinctive building form that strengthens connections to the surrounding area.

The building is carefully arranged into two intersecting forms that open up views and connect with nearby landmarks like the Magistrates’ Court and Heart of Worcestershire College.

At ground level, the building has been designed to feel open and welcoming, with a cafe, laboratories, workshops and a range of flexible meeting and event spaces. These facilities will support learning, community use and collaboration, helping to create an active and inclusive town centre destination.

The upper floors will provide a mix of office accommodation to support both start-ups and established businesses. Shared spaces are integrated throughout the building to encourage creativity, collaboration and informal working, while the flexible layout allows the centre to adapt and grow as business needs change over time.

Securing planning permission is a significant step forward for the Redditch Innovation Centre. This is an important milestone that reflects a shared ambition to deliver a high quality, flexible workspace that supports local businesses, learning and long-term economic growth in the area.”

Prioritising character, biodiversity and belonging

Our landscape strategy has been developed to support community engagement, enhance biodiversity and contribute to a more welcoming and accessible town centre environment.

To ensure the building settles comfortably into its surroundings, we’ve softened the site’s urban edges with green buffers and thoughtfully designed boundaries.
