Philip joined AHR in 1997, became a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2008 and an Associate in 2009. Philip plays a key role in our Principal Designer team, leading commissions with a number of clients, including a significant number of projects through key frameworks.
Philip acted as a Chartered Building Surveyor and Project Manager before moving into the role of Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations. These previous roles enable Philip to bring his experience, expertise and understanding of construction, design and management of projects and procedures within the construction industry into the health and safety aspects of construction and use of buildings.
He is a Certified member of the Association of Project Safety, with responsibility for the provision of Principal Designer and health and safety consultancy services for a large number of key clients.
Philip’s experience includes the provision of principal designer services for various types of repair, maintenance, refurbishment, new-build, alteration and extension projects. He has experience in a range of sectors, including Universities, Schools and Academies, Local Authorities, Healthcare, Residential, Defence, Infrastructure and Transport, Commercial, Fire and Rescue, and Leisure.
His role requires involvement at all stages of the project from inception through to completion of the project, applying safe practice principals to the design and regular inspections to ensure safe working practices are being carried out. Philip also has thorough experience in direct client liaison and as acting CDM Advisor.
