Plans to restore the historic market in Dinnington have been approved
by AHR
Exciting news for the Dinnington community as plans to transform the high street as part of the town centre regeneration have been approved.
This thoughtful revitalisation will help to increase footfall, boost the local economy and inspire a renewed sense of pride within the community.
Designed to foster a vibrant and sociable cafe culture, the development will feature a purpose-built town square, complete with specialist retail outlets and food and beverage spaces.
To attract more visitors and create a lively hub for the community, the new market will be able to expand its operations to additional days, offering more events and specialist food and drink fairs.
The redevelopment will also feature enhancements to public spaces and soft landscaping to foster a healthy and sustainable town centre. Improved pedestrian routes will provide safer, more accessible connections between the bus station, car parks and the high street.
Shaping sustainable places that communities can be proud of
This market redevelopment forms part of a broader masterplan for the regeneration of Rotherham. We are supporting Rotherham Council in transforming previously neglected spaces into dynamic hubs of activity, creating sustainable communities and positively impacting the health and wellbeing of people across the region.
As well as replacing a former derelict nightclub, with a mixed use residential and commercial space, we are refurbishing a former Grade II Listed brass and iron foundry to create a unique civic space, bringing much needed homes to the area in a residential masterplan and redeveloping the Rother Valley and Thybergh Country Parks.
It also expands on our market portfolio, which includes the successful design and delivery of the much-loved Chester market. This award-winning project has greatly supported the economic regeneration of Chester, with the market welcoming a staggering 600,000 visitors in the first few months after its opening.
