How we envision to transform the Five Acres site in Gloucestershire
by AHR
Planning has now been submitted for our Five Acres project, a new community and leisure centre located in Berry Hill in the Forest of Dean.
The project will feature four indoor courts along with associated external works and sports changing facilities.
Its design will positively promote a comprehensive and versatile hub that caters to a wide range of fitness and communal needs, shaping a sense of belonging and togetherness within the community.
Our vision for the site is to create a flexible, sustainable and adaptable design to encourage community engagement and enhance people's enjoyment of leisure facilities and activities."

Project ArchitectCreating a diverse and varied environment for people to engage in physical fitness, wellbeing and social connections, the new facility will offer a multitude of opportunities for activities.
Including a dance studio, space for yoga and other group activities, general community space and a multi-use gym.

To promote sustainability, we will conduct ecology surveys, use high-quality materials, implement green roofs, incorporate large windows for natural light, use solar shading and install solar panels on the sports hall roof.
Additionally, we will preserve existing trees, employ water-efficient appliances and provide electric vehicle charging points.
Five Acres will also make the most of its surroundings, being situated close to the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
By providing communities with spaces to enjoy time together, we are encouraging them to create memorable, rewarding experiences, prioritise their health and wellbeing and explore new environments. Discover more of our projects which achieve this here.
