Reem began her four-week work placement as part of the 2022 AHR RIBA Scholarship in the London office and we took the opportunity to catch up with her to hear all about what she's been getting up to.

The scholarship provides Reem with personal mentoring by one of our architects, a four-week paid work placement at one of our offices and a £6,000 grant to go towards her studies. Its aim is to address a lack of inclusivity at Part II stage of the professional qualification in architecture by supporting talented students who might struggle to cover the costs associated with their course.

We had the fantastic opportunity to see Reem in action, have a chat with her about what she’s enjoying most about working in the office as well as what she’s been getting up to. Have a watch below.

Reem has been under the mentorship of London director David de Sousa and was excited to select AHR’s London office as her work placement location. Her industry knowledge, skills and confidence have grown exponentially having gained an insight into the workings of an architectural practice. This exposure has enabled her to collaborate effectively with her colleagues and benefit from their wealth of expertise, leading to a significant boost in her professional development.

I am passionate about supporting the next generation of architects and it has been a fantastic opportunity guiding and mentoring Reem as she takes on her work placement with us in London.”
