M.Arch, B.Arch (Hons) B.Arch
Senior architect and certified Passivhaus designer Louise Smith has so far enjoyed a varied and exciting career at the practice over the past eight years. Based in our Glasgow office, Louise’s multisector experience means she is able to contribute meaningful insight and understanding to every project she undertakes, no matter the scale or complexity.
“Above everything, what motivates me is seeing our designs brought to life and seeing people enjoying and thriving in the spaces that we shape and create.”
As a certified Passivhaus designer, sustainability remains a top priority throughout her work. Louise enjoys supporting her team to create smart designs which both minimise their impact on the environment and provide a safe and comfortable environment for the people who use them in equal measure.
Louise’s greatest motivation comes from finding solutions to difficult challenges, working alongside both her team at AHR and the clients she works with to produce bespoke designs that not only meet but exceed all expectations. Her ability to build strong relationships with clients and take them on the project journey with her is owed to this.
She appreciates working alongside a diverse and talented group of people, tapping into different knowledges and specialisms to create unique, efficient and sustainable design solutions.
A people person both in and outside of the office, during her spare time, Louise’s enjoyment comes from spending quality time with her friends and family.
