Following on from the success of Liberty Quays Phase 1 which delivered 605 student bedrooms we were subsequently commissioned in to develop a second phase of student accommodation to meet an increase in demand for student housing.
The two courtyard buildings are set around a landscaped shared surface which acts as the main gateway and pedestrian route into the site and to the residential blocks and the river beyond. The courtyards have a collegiate feel with flat lawns raised up on conservation kerbs to encourage informal sitting. Lengths of evergreen hedges and small evergreen trees punctuate the space and give some enclosure as well as creating a pleasing pattern when looked down upon from the study bedrooms.
