The two storey building comprises 11 specialist science laboratories along with a lecture theatre and science discovery area. These teaching facilities are complemented with prep rooms and staff work areas.
The challenging site determined the eventual building form which is connected directly to the adjacent sports facilities. Whilst the building is deep in form, all teaching spaces have been located around the perimeter of the building to ensure good levels of natural daylight and natural ventilation. The double height discovery zone has been located at the entrance to the building to act as a hub for science and orientate people in the building.
