THROUGHOUT 1998 TO 2009, AHR'S WORK ON THIS EXTENSIVE PFI DEVELOPMENT ENABLED THE SUCCESSFUL REALISATION OF THE WOMEN'S, CHILDREN'S, ADULT AND EYE HOSPITAL SERVICES AT THE ROYAL MANCHESTER CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL.
Working with Central Manchester Healthcare NHS Trust and Manchester Children's Hospital NHS Trust across every department of the major clinical facility saw a close and collaborative relationship develop that led to the delivery of a sustainable and long-lasting solution.
AHR, as lead technical advisor, prepared the brief and site rationalisation strategy for this £420m PFI development, including leading the interview process for the construction teams and assessing design submissions to select the Preferred Bidder.
This included the writing of the operational Policies with the clinical leads, producing the schedules of accommodation and key adjacency briefing diagrams for the bid documents and assisting in the creation of the evaluation criteria. AHR's role, working alongside the Trust and Contractor, enabled all parties to understand each other's needs and create a world-class, affordable and compliant solution.
