Rochdale Interchange won the award for “Medium Project” at the Institution of Structural Engineers, North West Structural Awards held on Friday night.
Completed November 2013, this new interchange has been well received by the public, providing a step change from the existing bus station. Reviews with accessibility groups, engaged throughout the process, have been positive. Architecturally, the building sits impressively against the River Roch and completed council offices, now facilitating the remaining stage to redevelop the existing bus station and extend the town centre towards the interchange.
