OPENED IN 2016, THE 1200 PLACE RHYL HIGH SCHOOL COMBINES THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL WITH A SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS SCHOOL TO CREATE A NEW LEARNING CAMPUS IN THE TOWN. THE THREE STOREY BUILDING ENJOYS STUNNING VIEWS OUT TO THE COAST NORTH AND TO SNOWDONIA TO THE SOUTH.
The site organisation enables drop off at the building entrance to a covered frontage. The main entrance leads directly to the heart of the school where shared facilities such as dining and hall can be accessed directly from a central space with each teaching faculty above.
Each subject area is organised around a central breakout space containing informal learning spaces along with lockers and storage. Natural light is drawn in to each of these central spaces through large roof lights.
