Imran joined the Practice in 2001 after graduating from the Manchester School of Architecture and has played a key role in growing the Manchester office and developing AHR’s extensive education portfolio.
Imran has significant experience delivering schools using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and in particular, modular design and off-site construction. He is a thought leader on this topic, at the forefront of innovation in delivering MMC for the sector.
He has an in-depth knowledge of education delivery and the requirements of the built environment to meet the needs of practitioners and students alike and has worked on all project types from nursery and pre-school through mainstream education and tertiary level projects. He has also lead a number of Special Education Need and significant campus co-location projects where his considerable stakeholder management skills were key to a successful project delivery. He has also lead projects specifically relating to city centre commercial sites, historic buildings and leisure facilities.
Through delivering an extensive portfolio of large scale education projects Imran has developed a strategic understanding of brief making and procurement, which has lead him to work in roles advising both client groups and bidding consortia.
Imran is highly committed to sustainable building design and is a qualified BREEAM Assessor.
