Project Design and Development
From the earliest inception stages, our typical involvement in a project starts with the interpretation and development of your ideas and aspirations into concept and feasibility proposals, supporting these with accurate cost advice. Developing through detailed design, statutory submissions and other approvals, we will keep you closely involved in all aspects of project’s development, leading through to managing the contractor procurement process and overseeing works onto and through the site build process to handover for use followed by contract close out.
Building Information Modelling (BIM)
We are at the forefront of adopting BIM in the building surveying profession. We are passionate about the benefits BIM can bring to existing buildings. We use the latest digital surveying techniques to create point-cloud models of your existing buildings, which are then used as the basis for BIM models together with complete visualisations. AHR is the first building consultancy and architecture led practice to be verified by BSI to deliver projects at BIM Level 2 for design and construction. This achievement ties neatly in with the UK Government mandate that all centrally funded building projects are required to use Level 2 BIM.

We are highly experienced in the administration of building works under a variety of forms of contract ranging from traditional JCT through to NEC. We actively manage contracts to ensure the client and contractor meet their obligations under the terms of the building contract.
We provide a comprehensive Employer’s Agent service, drawing on extensive experience in administering and managing contracts. Our team has vast expertise in selecting tenderers, preparing all tender documentation including the employer’s requirements, analysing tenders and recommending accordingly. Once let, we administer the contract including agreeing payments and organising site meetings, issuing variations and providing quality inspection services where required. We advise readiness for hand-over to the client and on the settling of final accounts at the conclusion of the project.
We offer an integrated cost consultancy service as part of its lead role on projects. Our team provides a full range of cost consultancy services on a wide range of procurement routes. We provide consultancy services for refurbishments, alterations, and repair and maintenance projects. Our services range from initial budget costing to life cycle costings, claims assessments and value engineering to bills of quantities and cost control. We also provide a comprehensive and cost effective specification writing service.
Acting as Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations, our services are designed to ensure not only legislative compliance but also added value. Value is delivered through our expertise in design, occupational safety, construction safety, assessment of risk and end-user documentation. Our knowledge enables successful integration of safety in design at very early project stages.
