This project was completed in collaboration with Aedas HK. The ethos pervades all aspects of the hospital; from the use of “Red Coats” to guide and assist visitors, to the elegant but practical finishes employed in the 22 storey clinical tower that houses the 360 beds and intensive care facilities at the top of the facility. The hospital’s core diagnostic and treatment services occupy the first three levels of the main hospital building ensuring that these interventional departments are conveniently located to allow easy access for the highly flexible outpatient and inpatient clinics. They also facilitate staff convenience and logistical support from the lower levels.
Cleveland Clinic is run by one of the world’s leading hospitals half a world away. A consistent clinical approach is therefore achieved through extensive provision of Telemedicine throughout the interventional facility, connecting theatres directly with the Cleveland hospital in Ohio, USA. Simulation centre, set up exactly like the hospital rooms, is provided to reduce errors in communication between team members (the major source of clinical failings). Services such as robotic surgery, radiology, and interventional radiology are clustered to achieve efficiency in space standards and staffing. Hybrid theatres with imaging facilities, Stereotaxis and provision for future installation of Interventional Magnetic Resonance Imagining Systems will further enhance the hospitals clinical capabilities.
