Our team worked closely with the Academy to submit a robust bid for finance under the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund. The bid was successful and AHR was retained as consultant to manage the project.
The building is an original single storey stone built school with various extensions consisting of 3 storey brick and artificial stone buildings. Works included the replacement of the existing single glazed metal framed windows and doors to the 3 storey 1970s brick built teaching block and the replacement of cladding. The flat roof consisting of a number of levels was also in poor condition was re-laid as part of the project with a new felt roofing system.
Key considerations for the client included minimising disruption to teaching spaces whilst works are undertaken. This was achieved through carefully coordinating the work in phases to suit the Academy’s busy schedule.
