BROOK AVENUE IS A DEVELOPMENT OF 111 HOMES FOR NETWORK HOUSING GROUP. THE DEVELOPMENT INCLUDES A MIXTURE OF DIFFERENT UNIT TYPES DESIGNED TO MEET THE CHANGING NEEDS OF RESIDENTS IN ORDER TO ENCOURAGE LONG TERM OCCUPANCY AND A DIVERSE AND SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY.
Built on the site of a former car park, the scheme retained or replanted the mature trees on the site to create landscaping with a woodland character which encourages local biodiversity. The homes are built to Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, GLA London Design Guide and Lifetime Homes standards.
This landscaping also screens the development from the road, providing a pleasant outdoor amenity space for residents.
30 of the homes are for affordable rent, 25 for shared ownership, 22 for private sale and 34 through the Mayor of London’s housing covenant. The scheme received £1.7 million funding from the Greater London Authority and a £6 million loan from the Homes and Communities Agency under its ‘Get Britain Building’ programme.
