The new world-class facility replaces the previous existing Underwater Escape Training Unit (UETU) which was no longer adequate as it lacked capacity and was not suitable for amphibious vehicle training. AHR redesigned the scheme to provide a more practical, robust and cost-effective solution allowing the training programme, in its entirety, to take place in one space, in one day.
