"AS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF AHR BUILDING CONSULTANCY, I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT FACILITATING AND MOTIVATING EVERYONE IN OUR BUSINESS TO EXCEL AND PROVIDE FIRST CLASS CLIENT SERVICE."
Robert has worked with AHR since graduating in 1982 and has subsequently gained unrivalled experience in most aspects of building consultancy work and building types. As a practicing Chartered Building Surveyor he has led a number of projects, ranging from significant maintenance and alteration works, to major new build and extension schemes, as well as the repair, refurbishment, restoration and alteration of both sensitive buildings and modern structures.
Having co-founded the business in 1987, Robert leads the Building Consultancy as Managing Director and also serves on the Management Board for AHR.
A campaigner for the consultancy’s early development of BIM processes, and the continued exploration of new and industry defining developments in its use in FM, urban renovation and sustainability, Robert has been fundamental in developing the consultancy and the high quality services it delivers to all clients. He is responsible for delivering the Building Consultancy’s strategic business plan across the UK and leading the successful growth of the business year on year, whilst also ensuring that wider social and environmental issues are considered in everything the company undertakes.
An advocate for social value, Robert ensures that every project is managed with this in mind; from the procurement process through to the completed works. His ‘hands on’ approach to the business allows him to be at the forefront of championing projects which deliver not only sustainability, but opportunities to local communities and services. Embracing both diversity and multi-cultural influences, Robert is also instrumental in the practice’s commitment to recruiting highly creative and innovative people from a broad range of backgrounds.
Approved by the Church of England as an Inspecting Building Surveyor and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Robert is experienced in many types of surveys ranging from the comprehensive structural surveys to the scheduling of dilapidations, together with planned and backlog maintenance schemes. Additionally, he has been responsible for a number of commissions for “fast track” bulk surveys of whole building portfolios.
