We are pleased to announce that our work on the North East Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP) has been recognised at this year’s Constructing Excellence in the North East Awards (CENE), winning the Highly Commended award for Building Project of the Year.
AHR Associate Director, Chris Potter and Associate, David Haselgrove attended the 13th annual CENE Awards event, where they took centre stage with members of the design team to receive the award.
The North East PSBP, comprised the delivery of six primary schools and six secondary schools, spread across seven local authorities. The design adopted a standardised approach to maintain compliance across the batch, whilst allowing flexibility to suit the individual briefs of each school, such as Front Street Primary School and Hylton Castle Primary School. The delivery of the 12 new build schools was undertaken in just over a year due to our considered and strategic use of BIM.
