AHR Building Consultancy recently held a ceremony to present an AHR Le Tour jersey at the Huddersfield office in recognition of raising £18,000 as part of our ongoing efforts for Cancer Research UK. Fundraising centred around the 750 mile AHR Le Tour bike ride in August 2014. The ride took place from Glasgow to London, stopping at each of our offices along the way, and culminated in the London Ride 100. A hugely impressive effort that could not have been achieved without the generous support of our key sponsors, Newforma, URS and Enterprise.
Malcolm Ellis, retired Director of AHR and leader of the AHR Cycle Tour, said, ‘I am very grateful to have taken part in this challenge which had tremendous support from every office, from friends, family and our sponsors. Sure it was a long way but every pound raised will be put to good use by Cancer Research UK and will make a difference to so many’.
Malcolm Ellis who joined AHR in Huddersfield in 1972 helped develop AHR into a practice renowned the world over for unparalleled excellence and innovation in architecture and building consultancy.
Current AHR Building Consultancy Managing Director based in Huddersfield, Robert Grayson said ‘I’ve known Malcolm for 32 years since I first joined the practice, and his selfless effort working tirelessly to help others is typical. Yet again he put himself out to levels most of us can only watch and admire by cycling around the UK raising much needed funds for such a worthy cause. Malcolm is an inspiration to everyone he meets’.
